We have just released a new free album titled “Edison Originals” which was originally a promotional vinyl album released by the McGraw Edison company in 1957. It provides a really interesting historical view of the evolution of recording technology.

We have also posted a new app note from Marc Hildebrant titled Audio Tone Mapping, where he describes a new technique for restoring old audio recordings by borrowing some ideas from photo restoration. While you are there, be sure to check out all of our application notes.

Also don’t forget the latest from the Edison Lateral collection called “Posey Rorer and the North Carolina Ramblers” available from our on-line store or streaming online from your favorite streaming service. Posey Rorer was an influential old-time fiddler and a key member of the early string band movement, best known as a founding member of the North Carolina Ramblers. The Ramblers, also known as “Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers,” helped shape the old-time and early country music traditions during the 1920s and early 1930s.
