I recently recorded WAV files of the "silent grooves" on a test record using three different turntables. I tried to keep all conditions equal; same cartridge, same volume settings for the amps, etc.
I then played the WAV files in D-Cart32,v. 4.02 and viewed the noise using the Spectrum Analyzer function. I was trying to determine which of my tables had the lowest noise floor.
Would someone tell me what reference level
is used to derive the placement of the frequency amplitudes on the analyzer display? for example, 60 db below what level?
thanks,
George Peek
