I'm a big fan of the virtual valve filter - it really brightens up a recording. But sometimes it brightens it up too much. For example, I'll apply the filter (Purist 2 setting) to a digital soundboard of a live show. It does a wonderful job on the music, but sometimes it sounds like it adds just a bit of hiss between songs where their is no music. Does anyone have a description of the Purist 1, 2, and 3 settings? I really enjoy these settings but I'd like to know the differences between them. For example, how they work, what's the best "default" setting to use for simply brightening a file (with minimal hiss added). Thanks for the help!
