  • help on joining wavs.

    Hi all,

I am a relatively new user of DC32 and love it!
It has enabled me to restore lots of old tapes
and LP's and burn them to CD.

I get a good sound and friends are pleased with results.

Just one small flaw I have. When I burn CD's
there is one small "tic" where the end of one
wav meets the start of the next wav.

Any secrets for perfect silence at the join? or
    am I too fussy?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    David.

Are you doing the "Quantize for CD Audio" step under the CD prep menu? Forgetting that one can cause small clicks at the beginning or end of CD tracks.

I've found that making sure the level is at zero at the beginning and end of each track eliminates glitches between tracks. It's easy to do -- just select a very small portion of the start of the track, and use gain change/fade in to make the level zero at the start. Do the same thing the other way around at the end with gain change/fade out, and you're all set.

        Jack,

You can also accomplish what you are doing with the "mute" function. It may be less work that way. Just highlight and then hit the mute function. I think that mute is under the edit menu. There may also be a keyboard accelerator for mute. Check the manual.

Thanks all! Early testing of your ideas looks
          good.

          Regards,
