DirectSound Error: Unknown Error Number

In post 14 I mentioned using the "control panel" to select the sound devices, then the recording, then the advance tab. Under the advance section you can change the sample rate. Using the help window in windows 10 you can find the path to the sound card in your system.

Are you using an external sound converter?

If you set your edit/preferences/soundcard to the computers's on board sound system do you still get that error?
