Occasionally, people record in 32 bit floating bit format. Why, we have no idea, because it's theoretical dynamic range is 192 dB. Compare that to the dynamic range of a vinyl LP which is around 50 dB. Nonetheless, some soundcards support this and play these files ok. Some soundcards do not. When the Diamond Cut Software passes on such a file to a soundcard that doesn't support 32 bit fp, they distort the signal. The solution is to convert the file bit depth down to 24 bits first before working with the file. The distortion issue will be solved by adding this step into the process. If you are wondering what file format that you are using, it can be found under File Info (under the View Menu).
