  • Bug with "Save as Source File"

    Group,

I use classic edit mode for all my work. As such, at times I try the following commands :

    1. Run multifilter and create destination from source.
    2. Use the "Save Destination file as" prompt
    3. Specify the same name as the source (I'm done with my work and just want the same name in the file as I started with)
    4. Receive the warnings about overwriting the file and such...do it still
    5. The destination and the source display DOES NOT CHANGE to reflect the fact that a new source is present.
    6. Close destination and source, open the source again and the result I wanted is now displayed.

Note: Forensics 10 works O.K. The destination closes and the new source is shown after step 4

    Marc

    Hi Marc,

What happens if you use "Make Destination the Source" and then just change the name there? Does that have the same bug?

      Craig,

The command "Make Destination the Source" does work O.K. when you have it replace the old with the new.

        Hi Marc,

Ok - we will look into that in the commercial version of the product too. Again, it seems that the DCForensics10 version is ok in that regard.
