just a curiosity question, I have quite a few London American Recordings that were recorded in the U.S. but on the record it says made in England. does this mean they have the American 78s preamp or the European 78s preamp? thanks

I am not 100% sure, but I think that if they wre wax mastered in the US, but stamped in Eurpope, most likely they have the US turnover frequency characteristic. Listen to both and decide which one sounds more natural. That would be the one that I would choose.

BTW - The key when using a listening test to make the determination will be heard in the smoothness in the bottom-end (bass) response of the recording.
