Hardware error when hitting the record button

There are reports that some folks get a hardware error when hitting the record button. This only happens on some system configurations. Some systems have a sensor on the input jack(s) to detect the presence of an input connection. If there is no cable connected to an input, the system will report a hardware error. Simply connecting an input connector will correct this problem.
