As suggested, I have downloaded the LAME codec and my ability to convert stereo music WAV files to MP3 files using "save source as" is working fine.
I have a short mono WAV file that I recorded from my scanner radio using Scanrec set to mono 8-bit depth. I cannot get this file to succesfully convert to an MP3 using "save as". Instead, I get a maxed-out display when I open the MP3 and a lot of rushing noise. I have been able to get other scanner radio recordings to convert to MP3, but I think they were always 16-bit depth.
I had done some editing to this file (deleted some noisy sections).
I would be thankful for any ideas or suggestions.
My OS is Windows XP Pro 2002 SP3
DC7 ver 7.06
