I new to dcsix and I'm trying to remove vocals from a track someone help me with this. thanx a million

Vocal reduction

Vocals can never be completely removed from a source, but they can be dramatically reduced (or attenuated) in level. Often, the ambient sound for the vocal will remain behind. There is one very important caveat, however. You must work with a stereo source; you can not attenuate or remove vocals from Monophonic material.

There are two methods. The first one is easier, but not as effective as the second one.

Method One (which looses much of the bass):

1. Bring up the File Conversion Filter under the Filter Menu.
2. Click on the box that says: From Stereo to Mono (L-R)
3. Preview the file and "tweek" the left amplitude control for the best vocal reduction. Usually, that will occur around a setting of 0 dB

Method Two (which maintains most of the bass):

1. Bring up the Channel Blender which is found under the Effects Menu.
2. Set the Left Channel Blend Control to 100
3. Set the Right Channel Blend Control to 100
4. Check box the Right Channel Invert feature
5. Check box the Blend to Mono feature
6. Check box the "Below" feature
6. Set the Frequency (Hz) to 150
7. Preview the signal and tweek the Left and or Right Channel Blender controls for the best vocal rejection. Usually this will occur when both are set to 100.
