Cell Noise (Nortel Noise) Interference Attenuator

Cell phones sometimes interfere with audio recording devices. This sounds like bursts of pulses interfering with the audio track. Here is a preset that you can use in the Dynamics Processor which can help attenuate this noise. It is intended to be used on severe cases of this problem only. You may have to adjust the Threshold control to obtain optimum results for your particular situation.

Milder cases can be addressed with the Expert Impulse Filter set to large sizes or via Manual Interpolation.

Diamond Cut Forensics8 has a special filter (Cell Phone Noise Filter) found under the "Forensics" menu specifically aimed at the Cell Phone Noise Interference problem. It is much more effective than the preset shown above and uses a completely different technology to address the issue.
