Dynamics Processor
The Dynamics processor is a combination of Compressor, Expander/Gate and a De-Esser. The compressor is useful in a wide variety of situations from taming the dynamic range on a live or classical recording, to equalizing the levels of a tapped phone conversation. The expander/gate is useful as a noise gate between songs of a album.. The Expander is also useful as a noise reduction tool by itself, reducing the signal level below a specified threshold and thereby reducing the effective background noise level. Both the Expander and the Compressor can be used simultaneously.
