Most machines today are more than capable of handling audio processing. Hard drives have also grown to a point, where you really have no limits on what you can do except perhaps time. As we've not yet developed time manipulation outside of the computer, let's just deal with what you'll need in the way of a PC.
**Further increases in the quantity of RAM will above the minimum needed for adequate OS operation will not appreciably speed up the DC6/ Live6 algorithms since they are almost totally bound by the processor. Upgrading to a faster processor WILL allow the filters to run much faster. Here are some guidelines for various OS's
***With the introduction of DC5 and Live5 version 5.15 you can use either MME based sound card drivers or DirectX (WDM) based sound card drivers. Some sound cards are supported better on one system or the other. If you choose to use DirectX, please note that there are some exceptions on Windows NT. For NT Microsoft only officially supports DirectX 3.0a on NT 4.0. There are many unsupported DirectX 5 for NT installations available on the Internet. Diamond Cut Productions does not recommend using NT 4.0 with this product.
****Special note for Live6/Forensics Flashback mode. Flashback mode
is a RAM based instant audio recall feature that requires significant amounts
of RAM. We recommend that your system has at least 512Meg of memory for use
with Flashback mode.
