EZ Clean	The EZ CLean Filter One click noise reduction. Even the most inexperienced user can clean their treasured vinyl and tape recordings with one click of the mouse. DC SEVEN includes a powerful new automated system that seeks and destroys clicks, pops, hiss, hum and other disturbances common to older recordings.
Continuous Noise Filter	Continuous Noise Filter (CNF) The CNF is your primary tool for hiss and background noise removal. By first taking a sample of the noise, the the CNF will remove all identical noise form the rest of the file. Artifact Suppression This technology reduces the aliasing and artifacting that sometimes affects the quality of the sound when you're pushing the Continuous Noise Filter to its limits. As you increase the power and amount of filtering on a tough file, in the past, you could generate new noise called artifacting. This machine-like ghosting was quite annoying and we'll be very happy to see it showing up much less in our restorations. Artifact suppression mode helps you push the Continuous Noise Filter harder without yielding these disturbing results! Spectral Subtraction Filter In CNF - An amazing new feature within the Continuous Noise filter…very helpful in situations where you’re wading through recordings that are loaded with lots of ambient noise. Adaptive Filtering in the CNF This intelligent filter adapts itself to the changing nature of the noise in your file. As it gets smarter, your noise disappears. There are two versions of the adaptive CNF, one for music and high quality recordings and one is especially made for use in forensic situation. This is very effective at extracting voice in situation where background noise changes as the suspect moves from car to street to hotel lobby.
EZ Impulse Filter	Easy DeClick and DeCrackle - The EZ Impulse filter makes the pop, tick and crackle removal a painless process. Not only has this process been made much easier to manage, it also finds and repairs a much wider range of clicks and pops. Brass and Vocal Mode- We added a new checkbox that makes special consideration for brass and strong vocal passages that used to confuse the filters and remove good audio. With this new enhancement, you can push the Impulse filters to new heights and achieve even better results over competing products. New presets for version 7.5- Now even more effective on cell phone noise (Nortel Noise)
Expert Impulse Noise Filter	Expert Impulse Noise filter This filter is for special situation where the EZ Impulse filter is not getting at all the clicks. There is lots of flexibly here and lots of presets to help you get started on the tough stuff. Brass and Vocal mode is here too for solo voices or loud trumpets that used to fool the impulse filter.
Narrow Crackle Filter	Narrow Crackle Filter We love new tools...especially tools that cover a category that wasn't covered before. Many times during restoration, you come across tiny clicks that lie just beneath the surface of your good audio that are hard to eliminate with standard click removal techniques. We saw these lemons and made lemonade with our new Narrow Crackle Filter. After the Standard or Easy Impulse filters have done their jobs, a new step will be the Narrow Crackle Filter that cleans up the minute clicks you used to have to live with.
Harmonic Reject	The Buzz Filter This filter removes noise from power lines, bad ground connection, loose shields and other unwanted hums and buzzed that get into your audio. It lets you be as gentile or aggressive as you need to keep you audio as clean as possible.
Paragraphic Equalizer	The Paragraphic Equalizer is a 10 band parametric equalizer with a graphical display of the frequency response. You interactively draw the frequency and amplitude to shape the response you want.
10 and 20 Band Graphic EQs	Standard octave and 1/2 octave based graphic EQ. Another powerful and easy to use enhancement and noise reduction tool.
Full filter set	Complete filter set Of course we have a full complement of standard and not so standard filters. Low Pass, Band Pass, High Pass, Notch, Slot, Average, Median and weighted Median filters are all here just in case you need them . Butterworth and Chebyschev response curves with selectable slopes make these filters very flexible.
EZ Forensics Filter	New EZ Forensics Filter -Not all users of our products are highly trained experts with years of high level experience. Now, an operator simply answers questions like, "are there single or multiple talkers?", "Is there background noise? Muffled speech?", etc. Next the program offers several solutions for the problem and the operator simply selects from the list of possibilities and starts to preview. Normally the program offers 4 "answers" to the forensic problem and the operator can preview the results with each of them in seconds.
Dynamic Spectral Subtraction	DSS- Dynamic Spectral Subtraction - Recovers Speech obscured by Loud Music or Television. Great forensic tool that has the ability to recover speech in the presence of loud music, car noise or other ambient noise. This is especially effective when used with a dual microphone recording.
Spectral Filter	Spectral Filter (Up to 32,000 Band Graphic EQ) - This filter allows you to create a very high-resolution frequency response contour using up to 32,000 bands of equalization by using FFT techniques. It is extremely useful in Forensic audio applications for removing in-band and out-of-band extraneous noises because of its high degree of frequency selectivity and its very steep slope characteristic. Spectral Inverse, Copy, and Difference modes -One of the most exciting new features in DC Live/Forensics is, in fact, a whole set of new features. The Spectral Filter now is not only a super EQ with up to 32,000 bands, it now sports several new modes that will make it very useful with forensic recordings. Spectral Inverse mode measures the amount of energy throughout the frequency spectrum in the recording and automatically creates a filter which tends to equalize the energy in all frequencies to a reference contoured shape - such as one that corresponds to human speech. This will be the "go to" filter for muffled voice or where speech clarification is needed. Spectral Copy allows you just sample the spectral characteristics of a reference file and impose them on a different file. For example, you can sample the spectral characteristics of a button "click" on a recording from a cockpit and then impose this on a file in order to make the button clicks easier to hear in a target file. Thus the signal in the first file is use to augment the signal in another file. Spectral Difference allows you to take two recordings that have different spectral characteristics (such as one on tape and one digital) and make them sound the same. The Spectral Filter also is now adaptive! Just click the Auto-Sample check box and the program will frequently resample as it moves along through a file, thus adapting as the file changes.

Adaptive Filter	Time Domain Adaptive Filter and Frequency Domain Adaptive Filter- These 2 new features help the software become "smarter" as it "listens" to your audio and applies its filters. Real Time Coefficient Display Added To The Adaptive Filter- Now you can visually monitor the effects of the Adaptive filter and visually reaffirm the process as it marches through your file. Normalized Adaptive Filter - New mode allows even greater automatic filtering.
Polynomial FIlter	Polynomial Filter - This allows the mathematicians, scientists, and engineers to create their own transfer function using a Polynomial expression. For those not so inclined, there is a plentiful assortment of presets to choose from.
The Multi-Filter	You can select multiple different filters and chain them all together to create one big filter and apply it to your audio in one pass. You can apply click and hiss removal and add some sizzle to your file in one go. This is a great time saver because you can handle many tasks in one single pass through your audio. You can also use this in conjunction with the batch editor to run groups of files at once.
LIVE Feedthrough Mode	You don’t need to necessarily have your audio recorded to the hard drive to take advantage of the numerous features of DC Live Forensics. Live mode allows you to run dirty audio in the inputs of your sound card, set up your numerous filters on the screen and have cleaned audio flow out the output of your sound card in real time. Flashback LIVE Review- Excellent for surveillance work. If you are monitoring during live recording and need to quickly review, you simply hit the Flashback Rewind and you can re-listen, clarify the recording and even enhance the portion in question while the system continues recording without interruption. Dual Stream Recording Added To LIVE Feedthrough- Now, when you record in LIVE Feedthrough mode, you can record 2 streams of audio. One is the raw, unedited audio while the other is filtered however you desire. This is an important backup when presenting your audio as evidence to prove that it hasn't been tampered with. Live Log To Disk with Notation and Automatic Time Stamp - Available in Live VOX mode…after triggering the automatic recording; time stamps are automatically applied as markers for each recorded event.
Hi definition Spectrum Analyzer	Hi Def Spectrum Analyzer -When we do an audio forensic analysis, one of our most important tools in the Spectrum Analyzer. LIVE/Forensics now includes a new, fully re implemented, high precision Spectrum Analyzer that can zoom to narrow frequencies with higher resolution, display a much larger range of frequencies and even save an older trace file so that you can compare it with a current trace file. 10 and 30 band analog mode for simulating analog measurements necessary in some applications Distortion Analyzer - New to the Spectrum Analyzer…measures the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) of any device.
Spectrogram View	The spectrogram view is sort of like an X-ray for sound. Sometimes stray clicks and pops can hide within the standard Time Domain View that you're used to seeing with virtually every audio editor. The Spectrogram let's you peer into the Frequency domain in a way you've never seen before. Those hidden clicks stick out like a sore thumb in the Spectrogram. The Spectrogram- Is an essential tool for forensic analysis. It is used for voice recognition (voice prints), speaker identification and acoustical analysis applications. New for version 7.5 is a tremendous increase in both time and frequency resolution with dramatically faster redrawing.
Virtual Phono Preamp	Virtual Phono Preamp: This novel new approach to RIAA equalization offers more accuracy and better sound to any record type. The Virtual Phono Preamp works great in conjunction with our flat phono preamps and offers you the best possible approach and most accurate EQ ever developed for vinyl restoration. This powerful new approach also includes a 3-band EQ, gain adjustment, balance controls and a 30 Hz Rumble filter to make recording your files a breeze...no matter what setup you present to DC SEVEN.
CD Burner	Now you can make CDs with our Easy to use Drag and Drop system or our use the DC Tune Library or import playlist from other programs. As of version 7.5 we support DAO - DIsc-at-Once mode for seamless audio track transitions on your CD. CD Text writing is also supported so you can see your track and album titles on your CD player of computer
Data Disk Burner	Burn DVDs and CD's with wave files, mp3 files or just data file from within DC Live. No longer do you need to use and external program to backup you project or create mp3 disk for the car. Supports multiple file formats and writing modes.
CD Ripper	Rip Your CDs Convert your CDs directly to MP3 or WAV files Automatically look up CD information from the internet Optionally Rip All Files to One Track for easier for processing full CDs worth of material. Added flexible file naming for creating meaningful file names on your tracks. Added adjustable Rip speed limiting for better more accurate transfers. Automatically adds MP3 tags to ripped files. ID3V2 Tag Support for MP3 and WMA Stores the name of song, Artist, Album and Genre in file and displays it in database view.
Punch And Crunch	Punch and Crunch Multiband Dynamics Processor- Improved:This cool feature is a four band dynamic expander (punch) and compressor (crunch). It is a great method for breathing new life back into recordings or mastering your own recordings to sound best on the radio. This has been enhanced in Version 7 with an additional band (4 instead of 3), variable frequency crossover points and symmetrical slope crossovers. There is also a ALC mode for creating (or un-creating) that highly compressed FM sound. New Variable Frequency Mode allows you to move around the crossover frequencies with your mouse and Symmetrical Third Order Crossover to improve the selectivity of the filter
Stretch And Squish Time Compression	Time Compression and Expansion (Stretch and Squish) - Now you can speed up or slow down the speed of an audio file and keep the pitch constant. Our time compression and expansion filter has been upgraded in the same way you blink your eyes and your Ford Taurus becomes a Mustang Fastback! Now you can make major changes to both speed and pitch of your audio files with no discernable difference in quality. Where the old time compression expansion tool was effective with only about a 10% increase or decrease in speed, you'll be amazed with what you can achieve using the new guy. Even if you've never used this tool before, you must try it...if nothing else but for the "giggle factor".

EZ Enhancer	One stop quick and easy enhancement plus tone controls . This filter combines an audio exciter with tone and level control to provide an easy to use enhancement effect for putting the final touches on your project.
Virtual Valve Amp lifer	Added a new High Noise Suppression mode to aid in enhancing noisy recording plus added New Pentode 6267-EF86 Tube and MOSFET 2SK-175 transistor types. Using the FAT BASS section of our Virtual Valve Tube Simulator, you can build up weak or inadequate bass lines in your favorite tunes and get those floors rattling again.
Dynamics Processor	Its a compressor, its a limiter, its an expander, its a noise gate, its a De-Esser its a very capable dynamics processor with lots of presets to make configuration easy. De-Esser with Variable Frequency Control - This special compression algorithm is tooled directly to remove hard “s” sounds that occur in older and poorly recorded files.
Echo and Reverb Effects	The Echo Effect contains two independent delay lines, which can be used in a number of different modes providing it with a great deal of flexibility compared to the old analog systems. Because it performs its function utilizing digital techniques, it does not suffer from the noise and distortion buildup associated with the older analog systems.

Making Waves	Create Sine, Square, Triangle or Noise waveforms for analytical testing of audio components, calibration and room measurements. Create both steady state tones and frequency sweeps from 10Hz to 100 kHz
Record Audio	Flexible Recording Level meters with peak indicator Easily navigate to your sound card's mixer to adjust input levels on recording. Supports wide range of sample rate and file formats including floating point. VOX feature starts recording only when there is audio present. Really saves time when cueing up records.
Direct X Support	Now you can use your favorite DirectX plug-ins within the DC7 and Live7 program. You can even use them in the Multi-Filter.
Output VU Meters	Two full range VU meters can be displayed which will indicate the output of any filters that are being used. These meters indicate the level of the left and right channels and have both average and peak reading ballistics. Peak Hold VU meters more closely resemble a high end stereo system readout.
Sample Rate Conversion	Quickly convert your files from one common sample rate and bit depth to another. Selectable quality and dithering options too.
DeClipper	DeClipper - Very often, files will become “clipped” if the input on the sound card is turned up too high and the sound card is overloaded. The results are usually distortion and a waveform that is “flattened out” on top. The new DeClipper helps remove this distortion and reform the waveforms.
Brick Wall Filter	A FIR based High Pass/Band Pass/Low Pass with adjustable slopes and very sharp attenuation capabilities. This filter is use full in forensic situations when extreme attenuation is needed.
Audio scrubbing -	Simulate rocking the tape reels to slowly move forwared or backward through a file to find that elusive word or click
Presets	Hundreds of New Factory Presets (Over 1200 Total) - Always a great starting point. We’ve added a ton of new tools to this version; we’ve also followed it up with an incredible amount of “factory” presets to help get you in the ballpark.
Fast Multi-Tiered Editor	There are two modes of graphical editing, the Classic mode and the Fast Edit mode. The Fast Edit mode of operation allows instant editing with each level saved in the Fast Edit History Window, so instant undo over numerous levels is easy. Cut/Copy/Paste instantly…regardless of file length.
Multi-Codec file format Support	DC SEVEN automatically scans your system for Codecs and adjusts to whichever ones you have installed on your machine.
Auto Leveling	Got a bunch of files of varying volumes that you'd like to make into a CD? No problem, just go into our Batch File editor and tell it to Auto Level these files. The Auto Leveler will raise the level or normalize all of the files so that your CD level will not fluctuate during playback.
Full Support for WMA and MP3	Now you can easily convert back and forth between these popular compress formats even record to CD. We also provide the ability to add your own encoder for other formats such as Ogg and lossless formats.
CD Database Integration	If you're working with CDs, DC SEVEN will instantly dial up the Internet CD Database and assign the names to all of your tracks before you rip them. This will save you the time of doing a Save As when you name the files.
No Time Limits	The wave file format has a 2 gigabyte limit. For those of you recording long radio shows or other events, this can be a real problem. Not with DC SEVEN. Though we can't fix the problem for Microsoft, we can find a nifty way of working around it. As we approach the limit, we simply stop the recording and open a second file. You get your whole recording...just split into several files.
Filter Sweeper	A novel filter which allows the user to apply varying degrees of notch, high and low pass filters over time. This is perfect in situations where more filtering is needed at the beginning of a file
Pencil Wave Form Drawing	Now you can zoom to single sample resolution and manually draw out clicks and pops that show up as spikes in the waveform.
Timer Recording -	Just like your VCR…you can set your software to begin recording at a certain time and end recording later. This can be set to be a one time recording or a daily recording.
Dithering Options for Resolution Conversion	Both Save as and the Sample Rate Conversion tool allow you to select from 3 different dithering options…Flat Spectrum, Triangular High Pass, and Noise Shape 2.

AVI Audio Support	Many of our customers wanted the ability to open an AVI file and extract the audio for editing. Many of our customers will now be happy! You can play an AVI within DC SEVEN, you can select an area and extract the audio.
